This one-hour webinar offers a brief examination of the basic concepts of Motivational Interviewing (MI), an evidence-based counseling approach, and its influence in patient smoking cessation behavior. We review the guiding principles and spirit of MI, basic skills (e.g., reflections, affirmations, etc.) and MI-consistent counseling strategies for smoking cessation, and discuss their application in a lung cancer screening setting.
